May 15 Regatta Results

The wind blew hard but the rain held off for a awesome day of racing on the beautiful Aitutaki lagoon.

The tamariki rikiriki had a tough start to the day, with some crews being blown sideways off the course, but it was great to see some big grins as they all made it back to the beach.

The U16's mixed it up into two crews for a tight race.

The Masters Men had their usual ferocious tussle as they continue on their way to Vaka Eiva in November and the muscle came out in the Open Men's races.

But the best looking crews took to the water for the Open & Masters Women's races.

The award for fastest paddler of the day went to a mystery tane in a modified V1 who unfortunately was going in the wrong direction, otherwise we may have seen some record times.

Races were held over 250m and 500m, with the turns in the 500m races giving a few crews some trouble (no thanks to the wind blowing them all over the place).

Thank you Aitutaki Lagoon Resort & Spa for opening up the beach for our use, and to all the sponsors, and to Terangi for her big day on the mic! See you in two weeks!
